Steve Falvo - Drums/Owner
Steve has spent many years in Abbey Road who has opened for these famous acts such as: The Drifters, Joey Dee and, 5th Dimension.

 

 

 

  

 Nick LaBombarda - Vocalist

Nick is a retired Custodian for the Utica City School District and has been singing Karaoke in local Clubs for the past 17 years.  Nick has placed in the Top 3 in various vocal competitions over the years.  Most notably, he earned 1st Place recognition for his vocal talents at the Herkimer County Fair Division 2 in 2008 and finished in the top 15 at the Capitol Icon Competition at the Rome Capitol Theatre in 2006.

 

 Jill Smith - Vocalist

Jill is a graduate of Ithaca College School of Music. She is the creator of Tempo Tots a mobile music program for preschools and families in the Mohawk Valley. A singer, songwriter, Jill has performed in many musical venues throughout the Mohawk Valley. In addition to Easy Money Big Band, Jill is currently the vocalist in two other jazz ensembles: "Sound Methods" and "Blue Star." This is her first "Big Band" experience and she is totally enjoying it!

Daniel K. Jones - Lead Alto Saxophone/Clarinet

Daniel K. Jones (DK) has BS and MS degrees from the Pennsylvania State University and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, all in mechanical engineering. He is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of Engineering Technology at SUNYIT. In his free time, DK enjoys playing clarinet and saxophones, and he plays lead alto saxophone in the Stage Music Big Band.

 

 

 

 


Joe Fiore – Lead Tenor Saxophone/Flute/Clarinet
Joe has played with many local bands including Four of a Kind and Carlton Boone Trio.

  

 



Lenore Signorelli – Alto Saxophone/Clarinet
Lenore is the President of HBE Group, Inc, an independent insurance agency with offices in Herkimer, Newport and Dolgeville, NY.  In addition to Easy Money, Lenore enjoys playing with Praxis Saxes 4, LaBanda Rossa, Helen’s Dixielanders, Utica College Concert Band, Floyd Community Instrumental Ensemble, and Stage Music Big Band. 

 

Paul Granato - Tenor Saxophone

Paul earned his BS from LeMoyne College, his Ph.D. in microbiology/molecular biology from Syracuse University followed by post-doctoral fellowship training in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons.  He is Professor Emeritus of Pathology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Director of Microbiology for Laboratory Alliance of CNY and Centrex Clinical Laboratories as well as serving as a director for a number of laboratories scattered throughout Florida.  Paul also plays sax in several other bands.

 



Lynda Dudgeon - Baritone Saxophone/Clarinet
Lynda is a retired engineer from Lockheed Martin in Syracuse. She has played in many groups including Utica College Concert Band, MVCC Concert Band, and Tuesday Night Big Band in Sauquoit, Ilion Civic Band, Up the Creek Community Band, and La Banda Rossa and also pit orchestras for musicals at Rome Community Theater, Rome Capitol Theater, and area high schools. Lynda attended Ithaca College for Music Ed.

 

Charles Coville - Trumpet
Charles has been playing since the age of seven. He has played in many groups including Little Falls` Military Band, Little Falls Symphony and Mohicans Big Band. 
Charles is the director of the Floyd Community Band and Co-Director of the Utica Ziyara Shrine Band.

 



James Traglia - Trumpet
James Traglia is a 1982 graduate of the Crane School of Music. Traglia also holds a Master's Degree in K-12 Elementary Reading. Jim has been employed for the past 27 years at Herkimer Central Schools as band & general music teacher. Traglia started the Herkimer Elementary Caribbean steel band 15 years ago. Today the Herkimer Elementary steel band consisting of 25 members grades 5 & 6 is the only one of its kind in the NY.  This popular cultural steel band musical ensemble has performed for many community events in Herkimer as well as the NY State Capitol In addition, Jim has been featured as trumpet soloist for many weddings in the past 33 years in the Utica area. Jim currently also plays as a soloist on the steel drum using a digital drum machine as an accompaniment. Traglia has enjoyed much success using the steel drum for the past 15 years. 



 

Oscar Stivala - Trumpet
Oscar is a retired surgeon from Argentina and has been playing in big bands since college. He is very active in many jazz scenes including central New York and New York City. Oscar also credits himself as an artist both in painting and sculpture.

 

 



Scott A. Bonney - Trumpet
Scott has played trumpet professionally since 1995 in various community, church, and school ensembles around his hometown of Utica, NY. He holds degrees from Onondaga Community College (A.A.S., Music), SUNY Fredonia School of Music (B.M., Music Education), and the University of New England (M.S.Ed., Education). Scott is a band director and the brass/percussion specialist in the West Canada Valley CSD in Newport, NY. He has taught all levels of instrumental music 5th-12th grades since starting his career in 2002, as well as directed concert, jazz, and marching bands in various scholastic competitions throughout upstate NY leading to numerous accolades and increasing recognition of WCV’s strong music program and talented students of which he is extremely proud. Recent invitations from colleagues to serve in the capacity as guest conductor or adjudicator in neighboring upstate county music festivals, has been a great honor, as is playing with the EMBB

 

 Greg Clark - Trombone 

Greg has earned degrees in Music Education from The College of Saint Rose (B.S.) and the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam (M.M.).  He teaches elementary band in the Whitesboro Central School District.  Greg plays trombone with the Paris Hill Brass Quintet, and performs for pit orchestras in local musicals.  His compositions and arrangements for concert band and chamber ensembles have been played by school and community groups in Upstate New York.

Rodney Michael Heines - Trombone
Mike has played in many musical organizations, starting out in his home State of Rhode Island. The most interesting gig he's ever had was as a member of the Tokyo, Japan based Crossover Generation band. Crossover Generation played summer festivals, jazz clubs,and even the Annual Banquet of the Japan Racing Pigeon Association - during which the band acted as a "karaoke machine" for the audience members who wanted to sing! During the day, Mike is a librarian. That's why he enjoys making lots of loud music with EMBB.

 

 


Allen Huntley - Trombone
Allen has played with many bands over the past 50 years including: Cornell Big Red Marching Band, Ilion Civic Band, Ziyara Shrine Band, Con Amore Orchestra, various pit orchestras, MVCC Concert Band, Floyd Community Band and most notably--35 years with the Mohicans Big Band.

 


John Deater - Trombone
John has played with LaBanda Rossa, Utica College Jazz Band, MVCC Concert Band, SUNY IT Jazz Band and Tuesday Night Big Band

Bill Tolpa - Keyboard

Bill has played in the Polka band Field for many years, as an accordionist, concertina player, as well as piano and vocals, He continues to play with the Classix Polka Band and the Polka All Stars. Bill started with big band at the request of Steve Falvo in 2012. He is truly enjoying this new experience.

 

  

 

 

Jeremy Ukena - Bass
Jeremy is presently the Department Head of Fine Arts at Proctor High School. He's been in the Utica City School for 31 years, teaching: string instruments, orchestra, Proctor's "Moose" Ensemble, and music theory.  He just became a contracted 'cello player with the Utica Symphony, is a member of Local 78 Music Union and play's with the Saranac String Quartet. His wonderful wife, Paula, is an advocate for Down-Syndrome. His daughter, Kyrie will be in the Girl Scouts Catalogue this fall. His son Paul will be a Junior at Ithaca this fall and his son Kieffer will be going to school with Dad this fall as a 9th grader.
Jeremy is honored to play with such talented musicians and hopes that everyone will come out to listen and/or dance to this very fine big band!!
